About Laura

Laura Tillack is originally from St. Andrews, NB, and has lived in Alberta since 2001. She is the proud mother of two adult daughters, Kailey and Savannah. Her partner, Bruce, serves in the Canadian Armed Forces and is also a dedicated father to three young children, with whom Laura shares an active role in their lives. Laura has owned and operated her small business, True Touch Massage Therapy & Fitness, since 2008 in downtown Leduc. Over the years, she has grown it from a sole proprietorship into a thriving corporation that now employs 23 individuals, offering them flexibility to balance work with their busy lives while doing what they love and earning an income.

Prior to serving on council, Laura volunteered with numerous boards and organizations across the City. One of her first initiatives was with the Deer Valley Playground Committee, which successfully brought the Mary Marsh Playground to the community in 2010. Since then, she has remained actively involved in a wide range of community programs—from leading Girl Guides to coaching her children’s sports teams—and has contributed to countless charity events in both Leduc and Edmonton, including Relay for Life, the Terry Fox Run, and many others.

Over the years, she has served on a number of boards, including the Leduc Regional Chamber of Commerce (3.5 years), the Leduc Downtown Business Association (2012–2022), the AG Rhythmics Gymnastics Club Board (2 years), the St. Benedict’s Elementary School Executive, and the Leduc Arts Foundry Board.

Since the summer of 2016, one of Laura’s favorite activities has been singing and playing music. For the past eight years, she has co-hosted Monthly Open Mic Nights, creating a welcoming space where musicians of all skill levels can share their passion for the arts. She has also enjoyed performing for residents at local retirement homes—including Salem Manor, Lifestyle Options Retirement Home, Extendicare Leduc, and Planeview Manor—prior to the pandemic.
